Egypt has sought support of the European Union (EU) in the project of reclaiming 4 million acres of land and also the national campaign to protect the River Nile.
In press statements, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said that Egypt desires to gain European support and experience in the field of using the solar power to run groundwater wells which would be used in reclaiming the one-million-feddan project.
Moghazi made such remarks on the fringe of the inauguration of the conference " water scarcity, challenges and available opportunities" organized by Delegation of the European Union in Cairo.
Also, Egypt asked the EU to help in supporting the national campaign to protect the River Nile through providing the modern equipment to control and detect violations such as electronic imaging devices and other latest devices to control and remove encroachments, the minister added.
