Egypt's Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy attended a meeting of African environment ministers held on the sidelines of the Climate Change Conference in Peru.
The African environment ministers' meeting is considered a preparatory meeting to agree on an African viewpoint toward climate change issues, the minister said.
The meeting also comes as part of Egypt's preparations to chair summit of African countries' presidents on climate change summit, he added.
Egypt stands fully ready to host an African summit on climate change, he said, adding that the African countries should unit their stances toward issues of mutual interests, especially in issues related to environmental affairs and sustainable development.
