Irrigation Minister Hosam Moghazy will hold a press conference on Wednesday to address the results of his recent visit to Ethiopia.
Moghazy paid a visit to the construction site of Ethiopia's renaissance dam.
The minister described the visit as significant, as this was the first visit of Egyptian official to the project since it was launched in 2011.
"It was a technical rather than political visit," he added.
The irrigation ministers of Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan met in Addis Ababa to discuss the results of the meetings of national experts on future work.
The three ministers also discussed the selection of an international consultation firm on the Ethiopian dam.
The consultation firm is to produce a detailed study on the dam's effect on the flow of the Nile's water as well as the project's environmental, economic and social effects on Egypt and Sudan. It should conclude its report within six months, by March, and its results are to be binding for all.
