Egypt welcomes the hosting of a workshop to discuss the institutional framework for including sustainable development aspects into national programs, plans and policies, Environment Minister Khaled Fahmi said.
The workshop will also probe the exchange of expertise among Arab countries in compiling priority indexes related to environment and development, Fahmy said addressing the 26th meeting of the Arab Environment Ministers' Council held here.
Egypt stresses the importance of committing to international environmental agreements (biological diversity, climate change and anti-desertification) and those concerned with hazardous waste and chemicals, he said.
Egypt is giving priority now to human capacity building in the environment and sustainable development domains, he said
