Egypt has expressed concern at the growing racist tendencies in Belgium.
During a session of the UN Human Rights Council to review a universal periodic report on the human rights situation in Belgium, Egypt's delegate to the United Nations in Geneva Amr Ramadan said the racist tendencies target religious freedoms in a manner significantly hindering Muslims in particular from practicing their religion naturally in the community.
The Egyptian delegation urged the Belgian government, to respond effectively to the phenomenon of Islamophobia that spread in Belgian society.
