Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has received a delegation from DACUM Training and Leadership Academy in Kuwait. The visit was to learn about the experiences and effect of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme in achieving government excellence and the Dubai Plan 2021.
The General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai has nominated DEWA to transform its experiences to the visiting delegation as it won the Distinguished Government Entity award in the Dubai Government Excellence Programme 2016.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director & CEO of DEWA, welcomed the DACUM delegation and emphasised DEWA’s commitment to exchanging experiences and best practices with all organisations and entities in the region, and around the world.
"DEWA has become an international role model for adhering to the highest standards of excellence and quality. In support of the directives of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to promote excellence, creativity and quality and DEWA’s strategy to enhance government excellence, based on international standards, DEWA has adopted innovation as a major pillar and as a government value. We work to improve government services and performance, encouraging a culture of innovation, and spreading it as a standard procedure, to develop government services, overcome challenges, and contribute to improving administrative government work," said Al Tayer.
"Through our plans and development projects in renewable energy, we strive to achieve the UAE Vision 2021, to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world by 2021, and to strengthen the UAE’s global competitiveness with a focus on renewable energy, and green economy products and techniques. DEWA aims to achieve sustainability, raise awareness among the community, promote the rational consumption, and instill a culture of conservation in society," added Al Tayer.
