Berlin gives priority for cooperation with Cairo in the field of water, said German Ambassador to Egypt Julius Georg Luy.
The ambassador made the remark during a tour of irrigation projects in Assiut, accompanied by Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi and Assiut Governor Yasser Desouki.
The ambassador, meanwhile, said that he discussed with the irrigation minister the huge project of Assiut sluice gates, which is due to be finalized in September, 2017.
This project is financed jointly from local finance and Germany, which contributes to the project by 296 million euros.
