Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme - Regional Office for West Asia, today organized the second national workshop for the project of modernization of national strategy and action plan for biodiversity, which will be held until 26 February 2015.
The workshop is held under the patronage of SCE Executive Director, Dr. Mohammad Mubarak bin Dina, with the participation of representatives from government and private sector institutions and civil society organizations.
The participants are to review the first draft of the fifth national report of the Convention on Biological Diversity, in addition to the modernization of national indicators related to biodiversity in Bahrain.
The national strategic objectives will be formulated in line with the 2020 Global Strategy aims to ensure the preservation of biodiversity elements and to promote sustainable use of natural resources in the world.
The project comes within the Kingdom of Bahrain's endeavor to reinforce and implement 2020 Global Strategy ratified under Law 18/ 1996.
