The Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Water will hold its 7th meeting on Wednesday and Thursday at the Arab League HQ, under Iraq's chairmanship. The meeting will discuss a wide range of issues, including following up the recommendations of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which was held in Sharm el-Sheikh in January, and set a strategy to face future challenges and needs, said Mohamed bin Ibrahim el-Tuwaijri, the AL Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs. The meeting will also discuss preparations for the seventh Global Forum on water to be held in Korea in 2015 and Arab cooperation in shared water resources, he added. Cooperation with Arab, regional and international organizations, prospects for the Arab Water Conference and Arab cooperation with states and regional groupings and ways of developing and activating the Arab Ministerial Council Award for water will also be discussed during the meeting, he said.
