Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan has launched an environmental campaign on the social media networks to highlight UAE's efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change.
The campaign was launched yesterday with an Arabic hashtag that displays the UAE's keenness to ensure a better climate. The campaign precedes the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), to be held in Paris from 30 November to 11 December, 2015.
The campaign seeks to add momentum to the climate change talks to promote the cause and engage members of the community through the social media, in an effort to reduce the impact of the climate change.
Followers of the campaign will learn about the opportunities available, as well as the initiatives undertaken to preserve natural resources. It is expected that the relevant local authorities will exploit the campaign to present their environment protection and sustainable development plans.
