The 27th round of the meetings of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for the Environment (CAMRE), led by Palestine, kicked off here on Thursday at the Arab League headquarters.
The AL Secretary-General Nabil al Arabi attended the meeting.
The meeting aims to discuss means of fostering cooperation in environmental and sustainable development fields as well as ways to face environmental conditions in Palestine, Syrian Golan Heights and other Arab regions.
The meeting will also tackle oil slick on Lebanese shores and following up the implementation of the AL developmental decisions, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs for the AL Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Tuwaijri said.
The meeting will also discuss the outcome of the United Nations conference for sustainable development and the sustainable development initiative in the Arab region.
They also will tackle activating an Arab strategy for disaster risk reduction.
The ministers will also follow up international agreements and meetings concerning environment as well as preparations for UN rounds on environment and other environmental issues.
