The Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources will finalize by October digging 26 water wells out of total 50 wells within the framework of the 1.5 million feddan project.
In statements Saturday, Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said the 26 water wells' cost stood at 25 million EGP.
Some 52 water wells dug in 2003 were restored to help reclaim 10,000 feddans within the framework of the 1.5 million feddan project.
The project will include integrated agricultural urban communities and agricultural industrialization zones.
Underground water will supply 80 percent of what is used for irrigation. The remaining 20 percent will come from the Nile River.
