Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad's personal representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First GCC Environment and Sports Conference is set to commence today. The Ritz Carlton Hotel's Al Ghazal Ballroom in Seef Area will host the first of a three-dayh conference, organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee in co-ordination with the Supreme Council for Environment and Natural Reserves. A number of topics will be discussed at the conference, which are related to spots and environment. Following the opening of the conference on today, six sessions are scheduled to take place tomorrow and Monday. Some of the axis of the conference are the sports activities and events, as well as facilities, equipment and tools that are environment friendly. These sessions will be presented by several specialists in different fields from across the Gulf region. The Bahrain Olympic Committee has already finalised all procedures to organize this significant conference, to be attended by various invitees from Bahrain and abroad.
