A new hotel brand is set to open in the glittering city of Dubai to fill the conspicuous void of budget, value hotels.
Called Rove Hotels, the new brand is pitched as a mid-market, smart hotel designed with the young, tech-savvy, worldly traveler in mind.
In other words, travelers who can’t afford to fork over thousands of dollars for a single overnight stay, as is the case for the Burj Al Arab, one of the most luxurious hotels in the city.
Guests check in at either self-service kiosks, or via an e-concierge, accessible via smartphone app.
Rooms measure 26 square meters (280 square feet), and come with a 42-inch TV screen and media hub. The hotel will also feature a 24-hour gym, pool, sun deck, and self-service laundromat.
A joint project between by Emaar Properties and Meraas Holding, the new value brand will see 10 Rove hotels erected across the region by 2020.
The first property, the Rove Za’abeel, is located 20 minutes from the Dubai International Airport and will feature 420 rooms spread across 14 floors.
Precise room rates are not yet available.
The Rove Za’abeel is scheduled to open later this year.
