Marriott International has revealed that it will open three new hotels in Sochi, Russia, site of the 2014 Winter Olympic games, under franchise agreements negotiated through NBB Development CJSC. The three hotels will be managed by Interstate Management Services. The hotels are the: Located on the Black Sea, Sochi is Russia’s only subtropical resort city and one of its largest and most popular resort destinations, attracting visitors from throughout Russia and beyond. Sprawling along nearly 100km of seacoast and 45km inland to the foothills of the Caucasus Mountain range, the City of Sochi lies within Sochi National Park. “We are thrilled to announce these three new hotels in Sochi and to be part of the growing infrastructure and rise of this great destination,” said Amy McPherson, president and managing director for Marriott International in Europe. We look forward to opening these great new hotels and welcoming guests from around the world to Sochi to enjoy all this incredible destination has to offer, in 2014 and for many years to come.” JW Marriott Sochi Golf Resort Joining Marriott International’s luxury collection of the most distinctive and elegant hotels bearing the Marriott name, the luxurious 150-room JW Marriott Sochi Golf Resort will open in early 2014 as Russia’s first golf resort hotel in a resort destination. Surrounded by the lush forests of Sochi National Park, the resort will boast a championship 18-hole golf course and golf club, providing a superb venue for international golf tournaments and the only year-round golf practice facility in Russia. A destination in and of itself, the hotel will feature a 700 square meter spa, two swimming pools, tennis courts and state-of-the art sports facilities. For dining, the hotel will boast a choice of casual and specialty restaurants, pool bar and bistro, as well as an exclusive golf club house and lounge. Marriott Krasnaya Polyana Hotel The largest of the three hotels, the 398-room Marriott Krasnaya Polyana Hotel, will be located in Gorky Gorod +540m, in the heart of the Olympic Media Village of Gornaya Karusel. A skier’s paradise, the Gorky Gorod ski resort boasts a long annual ski season from November to May. Visitors to Gorky Gorod +540 will be transported by cable car and attractions will include a Greek style amphitheatre, water park, congress centre, pedestrian shopping area and an Olympic Hall of Fame. Boasting two restaurants, a lobby bar and 1,225 square meters of meeting space, the hotel complex will also feature indoor and outdoor swimming pools and state-of-the art fitness centre. Courtyard by Marriott Sochi Plaza Located in the centre of Sochi, the 345-room Courtyard by Marriott Sochi Plaza will be part of the complete re-development of a former hotel building that will now also feature apartments, offices and shops. Offering sweeping views of Sochi, this well-known structure is situated within walking distance of the city’s seaside promenade and private marina. Boasting a rooftop specialty restaurant and sky bar, the fully-renovated hotel will be poised to re-establish itself as a prime destination within the commercial hub of Sochi.
