Those fortunate enough to call themselves denizens of the exclusive neighborhoods of Brentwood and Bel Air, Calif. can cast their ballots in luxury on Election Day. The Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel is serving as an official polling site for residents of the 90049 zip code, and is introducing some much-needed voter hospitality into the electoral system. The hotel is offering complimentary valet parking and hors d’oeuvres to guests and local residents who stop by the hotel on Election Day, according to the hotel’s press release. Those exercising their civic duty, or who just want to get in on the Election Day perks will also receive a 15 percent off coupon for dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and special room rate deals. “We like to encourage the community to come out and vote,” said Charles Harris, vice president of marketing for Luxe Hotels, of the polling perks. “This is the third time we’ve served as a polling place.” The polls, located in the hotel’s Luxe Sunset ballroom, will be open until 8 p.m. While the lavish locale may beat the high school cafeterias and local libraries others have to frequent, voters should reconsider before posting a photo of their ballots on social media outlets if they want to make sure their vote counts.
