The Phuket-based resort achieved a score of 78 percent of all criteria in its audit and has become the first Green Globe certified hotel in Phuket. This recognition highlights Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach Phuket’s strong commitment to the principles of environmental protection and most importantly, reflects the company’s determination to implement sustainable practices today to ensure a better tomorrow. “We believe that economic growth and the well-being of society are inextricably tied to the health of the environment. Through collaboration with our team, suppliers, and business partners, we have been actively working to reduce the environmental impact of our business activities, and to continually improve and innovate on practices while at the same time meeting current needs,” said Mr. Hansruedi Frutiger, General Manager of the hotel. Green Globe is identified around the world as representing the highest quality in sustainability practices within travel, tourism, and related industries. From key indicators on energy usage, water consumption, and waste output management to employee training and implementation of customer satisfaction measures, the resort achieved outstanding results.
