Originally scheduled for June 15 and then delayed until the 25th, the opening of the 10th anniversary ski and snowboard season at Snow Park NZ has been stymied once again by weather in New Zealand’s Southern Alps. “Some warm weather and rain on Saturday has set us back and unfortunately we are unable to open tomorrow,” resort spokesperson Kristy Quin said on Sunday morning. “The good news is the conditions quickly turned in our favor last night and things are getting back on track. We’ve been pumping snow all day long, and with the predicted weather and good snow making conditions on the way, we intend to be opening in the next few days.” Season Pass holders can drop into Quest Wanaka to have season pass photos taken prior to opening.
