Perfume has been part of fashion and culture since the dawn of recorded history, providing an ever-changing variety of scents to delight the senses. Master perfumers painstakingly create fragrances that capture the public's imagination from a nearly limitless combination of oils and compounds, relying on expertise, intuition and keen sense of smell to perfect their creations. Women and men today have an unprecedented variety of perfumes and colognes to choose from to find the scent that perfectly complements them. ·When you are testing new perfumes, don’t try more than three at once – your nose can’t differentiate the aromas. You’d better wait for a while till your nose is in a proper condition to evaluate accurate smells after applying on your skin. ·Perfume is comprised of water, scents and alcohol. The alcohol is a key element as it makes the fragrance emanate from the skin. ·Perfumes are divided in seven majors types; Florals, Chypre, Aldehydics, Fougère Greens, and Tobacco/Leather. ·Perfume gradation is based on strength. From the strongest; Perfume, Eau De Parfum, Eau De Toilette and Eau De Cologne, Aftershave. The more perfume oils contained in the solution, the longer the perfume will last and the stronger it will be. ·The same perfume can produce different smells depending on the user, as chemistry in each person affects the scent as soon as the users apply it on the skin. ·It is said that oily skin type can maintain a smell of perfume better than other types of skin. ·Blondes, brunettes and redheads are differently influenced by a perfume smell. ·Dispose of any unused perfume after one year, as oxygen in the bottle will oxidation, which can alter the perfume’s character. ·Perfume scent can evaporate rapidly from the skin. You can re-apply the perfume every few hours or you can apply an odorless lotion on the top of the skin to strengthen and lengthen your fragrance. ·Perfume which is applied on the neck, wrist, crooks of arms and behind the ears tends to give the strongest smell. ·Keep perfume in a dry and cool place, and keep any opened perfume bottle stored within a box to extend its shelf life.
