Indian fashion designer Manish Arora and jewellery label Amrapali have announced their collaboration for the Manish Arora SS13 ready-to-wear collection. This collection was unveiled in Paris in September and is inspired by the decadence of Indian Royalty. The teams of both brands worked closely to create a collection of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and hair accessories. Manish was inspired by Amrapali’s archives to create a collection of antique inspired jewellery, using a contemporary colour palette. Traditional tribal pieces have been reworked in 18k gold plating, stone and crystal setting, using the traditional Indian art of Meenakari. Animals feature heavily, recalling motifs used in Manish’s ready-to-wear collection; tigers and antelope are decorated with hand painted enamelling and gemstones. The collection will be available at Amrapali Boutiques in London and India as well as selected department stores worldwide. www.amrapalijewels.com
