Julie Zenatti performed in Nice
Julie Zenatti wore Beirut-based brand Dina JSR to the Ménoras d'Or at the Opera of Nice. The French Singer donned a short double faced silk wool dress from the Dina JSR Fall – Winter 2012/2013 Collection for her concert in Nice, France. She
styled her futuristic shoulder-pads with minimalistic hair and makeup, letting her natural beauty do the talking.
Dina JSR's second collection stands out for its couture inspired aesthetic. The dresses, the designer explains are “a tribute to the Italian architect Mario Botta,” who, using simple lines as a starting point, created graphic, bold volume. His influence is found in the cut of the material, which appears to the eye like abstract origami. Jutting out of architectural grids, space asserts itself and curves do not apologise for their existence. Diagonal angles emphasise the hips and chest. When the wearer moves, pleats intertwine like a sculptural spiral staircase. Dina JSR blends the conflicting qualities of materials until they flow in to each other, liquid like water. Laser-cut leather meets the natural soberness of Islamic geometric patterns, a spike-shaped corset punctuates the softness of a split wool gabardine skirt, lingerie overtones - embroidered details, lace effect bodystockings and jet-black lace sidings - mix with assertive structured pleats. The collection epitomises the encounter between architecture and femininity. If you want to get your hands on a sure-fire hit for a New Year bash, head to www.dinajsr.com.
