Fog was reported in the early hours of Wednesday with forecasters expecting more throughout the rest of the week.
Early commuters - particularly in the eastern and northern areas of the country - are advised to factor extra time into their journeys as visibility is reduced to less than 500m in areas.
Once the mist clears residents can expect a pleasant day with partly cloudy skies and light to moderate winds.
Temperatures will increase throughout the day, ranging between 14°C and 28°C along the coast, 12°C to 32°C inland and 10°C to 20°C in the mountains.
Humidity will increase throughout the evening leading to fog on Thursday morning, particularly inland.
Seas will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Sea of Oman.
Similar conditions can be expected on Thursday with stronger winds keeping temperatures cool.
