Egyptian actor Walid Hassan has expressed his happiness after taking his first lead role in brand-new comedy series 2 Live alongside singer Shaaban Abdel Reheem. Hassan told Arabstoday the show, written by Anwar Mohammed Anwar and directed by Hatem Salah el-Dine, brings the viewer into the mad-cap world of a satellite channel run by a butcher. “I couldn’t resist the idea,” he said. “Especially after being away from the scene for so long since the outbreak of the revolution.” Hassan revealed he had been offered large film contracts on the back of his acclaimed performance in Heaven and Hell.
