Adam Copeland, aka Edge, has joined the cast of The Flash.
The 41-year-old retired WWE star will play Atom Smasher on season 2 of The CW series, the network confirmed to ComicBook.com on Thursday.
"So this is happening!" Copeland tweeted of his casting after the news broke. "Another one off the bucket list @CW_TheFlash."
In the DC Comics, Albert Rothstein, aka Atom Smasher, is the grandson of Cyclotron. He inherited his grandfather's ability to control his strength and density, and is able to increase his size at will.
"One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill the Flash," The CW teased. "His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash."
The series is a spinoff of the network's show Arrow, and premiered in October 2014. The program follows Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), aka Flash, a crime scene investigator who develops superhuman speed after being struck by lightning.
The Flash was renewed for a second season in January, and will return to TV on October 6. Copeland is known for winning 31 WWE championships in his career, and also scheduled for new action film Interrogation with Julia Benson.
