Thursday's edition of "Showbiz Tonight" will be the last for the long-running HLN entertainment news program, the New York Post reported. "I know that we are all working hard to grow the brand and take HLN to the next level," HLN executive vice president and general manager Albie Hecht wrote in a memo to staffers Monday. "Of course, during our evolution, some changes will be difficult. This is one of the toughest ... Entertainment stories will continue to be a major pillar for HLN, and [host] A.J. [Hammer] will remain an important part of that coverage." "Congrats to the AMAZING @showbiztonight team for 9 incredible years," Hammer tweeted Monday. "What an honor. What a ride. #thankful." The Post said the cable network has not announced a replacement for the Monday-Thursday program.
