The countdown for the Sailor Moon series reboot has begun. A promotional photo for the new anime debuted today on its official website that shows Sailor Moon as she reaches for the story's fabled Silver Crystal. The series will be titled Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Crystal. Sailor Moon began as a manga in 1992, and has been adapted for several television series since. The upcoming reboot will revisit the story, which follows Usagi Tsukino as she transforms from a middle school girl into the title character. As Sailor Moon, Tsukino must defend justice and seek to find the Illusionary Silver Crystal before the dark Queen Beryl takes it for herself. Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Crystal will debut worldwide in July of this year on the Nico Nico website.
