TNT said Wednesday production on the second season of its nighttime soap opera "Dallas" has begun in the show's title city. The 15-episode second season is to begin Jan. 28. Season 1 debuted this past summer and averaged 5.3 million viewers. "Dallas" is about the Ewing clan, "an enormously wealthy Texas family whose sibling rivalries, romantic betrayals, corruption and even murder are truly legendary," a synopsis said. The new version of "Dallas" brings back three iconic stars from the original series with the same name -- Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing, Linda Gray as Sue Ellen Ewing and Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing. They are joined by the next generation of Ewings, played by Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster and Julie Gonzalo. Joining the cast for the show's second season will be Mitch Pileggi, TNT said. The original "Dallas" ran from 1978-1991.
