Netflix may produce a Wet Hot American Summer television series. Sources tell Variety the streaming service is interested in adapting the cult classic film. Netflix would reportedly like the cast to reprise their original roles, even though many of the actors are now in their 40s. The 2001 comedy follows a group of high school-age camp counselors as they romance each other and prepare for a talent show on the last day of camp. Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Ken Marino, Molly Shannon and Christopher Meloni are among the actors who appear in the movie. Director David Wain and creator Michael Showalter would return to executive produce the series. Universal Pictures, the studio that distributed the film, may collaborate with Netflix on the project.
