Netflix says it is adding five new children's programs -- including remakes of the 1980s animated series Danger Mouse and Inspector Gadget -- to its online slate.
"We've seen great characters and rich storytelling work for a global audience time and time again," Erik Barmack, Netflix's vice president of global independent content, said in a statement Wednesday.
"That's why we're proud to be working with some of the industry's best producers and animators on these shows and we can't wait for kids and families all over the world to get to know these stories."
Also set to debut via the streaming service is Some Assembly Required, a live-action comedy starring Kolton Stewart and Charlie Storwick which is set in a toy company; an animated adaptation of the Bottersnikes & Gumbles books; and the cartoon Super 4, which is based on the PLAYMOBIL characters Alex the Knight, Ruby the Pirate, Agent Gene, and Twinkle the Fairy.
