Egyptian director Mohamed Fadel told Arabstoday that he intends to boycott television until TV executives start showing him respect. Speaking to Arabstoday, Fadel said: “I have decided to boycott television for the time being because I do not respect institutions which do not respect me. It is unacceptable, after such a long career, to be treated so badly by TV execs. When I sold my new series “Wa Yaty Al Nahar” (and a morning will come), I was shocked to find it being broadcast at 4 a.m, on the Nile Culture TV channel, so I decided to take back the series until after Ramadan and then give it to them once again to put on during a suitable time." Mohamed Fadel is a TV and cinema director who graduated from the prestigious High Cinema Institute. His first series “El Kahera Wal Nas” (Cairo and people) was highly praised and the first of many more TV successes. Some of his most famous dramas include “El Nawah” (The Storm), “El Rayah El Baidaa” (the white flag), “Leil El Thaaleb” (Foxes Night), “El Ayla wal Nas” (The Family and People), “Leilet El Kabd Ala Fatma” (Fatma’s Arrest Night) among many others.
