Egyptian actress Mervat Amin spoke to Arabstoday about her scenes in the new series 'School of Dreams' and said it was a natural progression from her role in film ‘The Troublemakers School’. She said that both the film and the series are comedies but the ‘School of Dreams’ is different because despite the problems it raises, it is much lighter than Troublemakers' School. Mervat said: "In School of Dreams I play the role of 'Miss Mona' who tries to solve the students' problems at school. It sure is different from the Troublemakers' School due to the length of time that has passed between both projects. In School of Dreams, we also highlight the current education problems in Egypt." About her decision to chose another comedy series she said: "What would prevent me from choosing a comedy act if I was able to do it? I chose it because all my previous series in the last years were tackling very serious and dramatic issues, so I wanted to get out of this frame." Confirming rumours about her alleged salary reduction in this series, Mervat said: "The production in Egypt is passing through a big crisis, that's why they decreased my salary. It was a move in support of this serious problem so we’d be able to produce such an important drama series in Egypt." School of Dreams also stars Nashwa Mostafa, Gihan Kamary and Lotfy Labib Starr. The series is written by Ahmed Ata, directed by Adel Kotb, and produced by Cairo Audio Visual Company led.
