Melissa & Joey has been canceled at ABC Family.
The network announced the decision Monday, with stars Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence confirming the news on Twitter.
"Melissa & Joey will be wrapping production on its final season this week," ABC Family said in a statement. "The comedy will conclude its storyline at the end of the fourth season, to air later this summer."
Melissa & Joey debuted in 2010, and airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET. The series follows city councilwoman Mel Burke (Hart) and eventual husband Joe Longo (Lawrence) as they care for Mel's niece Lennox (Taylor Spreitler) and nephew Ryder (Nick Robinson).
"Now that the kids are grown and Mel and Joe have married and are looking towards starting a family, it seemed like a natural time to bring the series to a close," programming and development executive vice president Karey Burke said. "We are grateful to Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence and the whole cast and crew who worked so hard on this successful show."
Hart is also known for Nickelodeon sitcom Clarissa Explains It All and ABC comedy Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Lawrence came to fame on NBC series Gimme a Break!, and later appeared on the network's sitcom Brotherly Love.
