Egyptian actress Layla Elwy denied reports that she will play the role of "al-Sayeda Zainab," in the play, "El-Hussein the revolutionary and the martyr." She highlights that she is now living outside of Egypt, so has no contact with the play's producer. In an exclusive declaration to Arabstoday, Layla said "nobody from the crew talked to me about the play's details...somebody may have sent the script to my home while I was abroad." She added, "of course I will not object to playing this role, but the script will determine my decision. Sometimes when I read a script, I can't find any enthusiasm to do the work or the opposite." The play's producer Ahmed Abdel Wareth, gave statements promoting Layla Elwy for the mentioned role.
