Robins is known for her work in theater, and also appeared in Side Effects and the HBO series Bored to Death. She has been brought on as a series regular for Homeland's upcoming fourth season and will portray Martha Boyd. The character is the United States ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
House of Cards actor Corey Stoll is also scheduled to appear on the program. He will guest star as Sandy Bachman, the CIA chief of station in Pakistan.
Homeland debuted in 2011, and is based on the Israeli television series Hatufim. Clare Danes stars as Carrie Mathison, a CIA agent who must contend with her bipolar disorder and dangerous job.
The fourth season of Homeland premieres on Showtime this fall.
