Tony Award-winning actress Judith Ivey has joined the cast of the new Broadway production of "The Heiress," the drama's producers said Tuesday. Written by Ruth and Augustus Goetz, the show will also star Jessica Chastain, David Strathairn and Dan Stevens. It is being helmed by playwright and director Moises Kaufman. Preview performances are to begin Oct. 7 at the Walter Kerr Theatre and opening night is set for Nov. 1, 2012. This is a strictly limited run through Feb. 10. Set in New York, "The Heiress" is a love story about a "protected young woman caught between her steely, grief-stricken father and a mysterious, handsome suitor," a synopsis said. Ivey is a two-time Tony Award winner for "Steaming" and "Hurlyburly." She also appeared in the 1997 film version of "Washington Square," an adaptation of Henry James' novella on which "The Heiress" also is based.
