Johnny Weir opened up about the demise of his marriage to Victor Voronov in a new interview with Access Hollywood, telling host Billy Bush that his husband of three years was never fully supportive of his career. "He was not super accepting of the fact I work and I have to work this week in Russia, this week in Los Angeles, next week in Tokyo and that's something that's hard to wrap your head around," the 29-year-old former figure skater and standout NBC Olympics correspondent said. A rep for Voronov said in a statement that the Georgetown Law graduate had not expected the break up. "Victor is shocked by the abrupt ending of his marriage and is dealing with the trauma endured during the marriage including multiple things that he is only now becoming aware of." Weir also said that his role as the bread-winner impacted their relationship. "I was supporting two people and whether it seems like a big deal or not, I come from a lower middle class family that has had to work no matter what. If you can't be an attorney this week, then you better go get a job next week, otherwise the bills won't get paid," he said, though a Voronov rep said that the couple had agreed that he wouldn't work. Shortly before Weir visited Sochi, Russia for the Winter Olympics, Voronov filed a police report claiming Weir had bitten him. Weir told Access Hollywood that when he refused to have sex, Voronov became angry. "I was defending myself and it's unfortunate that there was a mark left on his body because as soon the police came to our home the first thing he did was show this mark, so I knew then he didn't really care that much and all he is out to do is hurt me," Weir said. Voronov has hired a crisis manager, and tweeted Wednesday that he was "shocked" by the split. "Shocked by the abrupt ending of my marriage and am dealing with the trauma including multiple things I am just now becoming aware of," Voronov said. "Yes. I'd like to confirm, It's true: I am only now finding out that my husband @johnnygweir filed for divorce from me months ago," he added later.
