Fran Drescher played a nanny on television but says she won't consider adopting an actual child until her decks are a little clearer. The 54-year-old Drescher told Parade magazine she thinks about adopting frequently but is focusing her efforts on developing her TV Land series "Happily Divorced," which is in its second season. "I think the show is very challenging right now because it is so young and we want it to be so good," said Drescher, whose big breakthrough was the hit comedy "The Nanny." "I would probably want to become a parent in a time when I am not stretched so thin. Because if I were to do it, I would want to do it well." Drescher has also reached out to kids by writing a new children's book called "Being Wendy," which reflects on her own sometimes bumpy childhood in Queens. "'The Nanny' is so popular with a young generation of people who weren't even alive when we were shooting most of it," she noted. "I thought I should leverage that kind of fandom by giving an empowering message, particularly during this time when kids are being ostracized in school or bullied."
