Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who describes herself as a "longtime fan of 'Fox & Friends,'" is moving there from ABC's "The View," Fox announced Tuesday. ABC said Wednesday is Hasselbeck's final day on "The View." She will join "Fox & Friends" in September, replacing Gretchen Carlson, who is getting her own show. "Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on 'The View,'" Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said. "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise." Hasselbeck got into TV through appearing on "The Survivor," where she survived into the final four in the show's second season. "I have been a long-time fan of 'Fox & Friends' and am excited to be joining their team in September as it is an honor to call the Fox News Channel my new television home," Hasselbeck said in Fox News Channel's announcement.
