Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky is set to executive produce the MaddAddam trilogy by author Margaret Atwood as a series for HBO.
The series, based on the books Oryx and Crake, Year of the Flood, and MaddAddam, will be produced under Aronofsky's Protozoa Pictures. He could also potentially direct the series.
HBO made a three-year deal with Protozoa Pictures in January and this series is set to be the first project to come of that arrangement, Deadline reported.
The trilogy is futuristic, what the author calls "speculative fiction." It focuses on a world in which corporations take the place of governments and genetic modification abounds.
