Katie Couric said on her U.S. talk show Monday she was bulimic in college and for "two years after that." Couric revealed her past eating disorder during a discussion on "Katie" with Dr. Cynthia Bulik, an expert on the subject, UsMagazine.com said. "Dr. Bulik, I imagine that these things are very familiar to you. I wrestled with bulimia all through college and for two years after that," Couric said. "I know this rigidity, this feeling that if you eat one thing that's wrong, you're full of self-loathing and then you punish yourself, whether it's one cookie or a stick of gum that isn't sugarless, that I would sometimes beat myself up for that," she said. "How do you have a healthy relationship with food, and say, 'You know what, I can have one cookie and it's OK?'" The show also featured an interview with Demi Lovato, a 20-year-old singer-actress who sought help for her own body-image issues, including an eating disorder and self-abusive behavior, in 2010.
