A Big television series is in the works at 20th Century Fox TV.
The comedy will be loosely based on 1988 film Big, which starred Tom Hanks as Josh Baskin. The character transforms from a 12-year-old boy into a 30-year-old man after wishing to be "big," and the TV adaptation will explore "what it means to be an adult and what it means to be a kid, and how in today's world those two things are more confused than ever."
Enlisted executive producers Kevin Biegel and Mike Royce will write and executive produce the series. Biegel is known for co-creating TBS sitcom Cougar Town, while Royce co-created and executive produced TNT dramedy Men of a Certain Age and executive produced Louis C.K.'s Lucky Louie for HBO.
20th Century Fox TV recently signed a new deal with Jenna Elfman to develop and star in a new comedy or drama series.
