Annabeth Gish will return as Agent Monica Reyes on The X-Files revival.
The 44-year-old actress first portrayed the character in season 8 of the original Fox sci-fi drama, and is confirmed to appear in one episode of the show's limited series return.
Agent Reyes was partnered with John Doggett (Robert Patrick), and also worked with Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) following Fox Mulder's (David Duchovny) disappearance. She and Doggett were last seen after they helped in Scully and Mulder's escape.
Anderson and Duchovny will lead the revival, with Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner, William B. Davis as The Smoking Man and Bruce Harwood, Tom Braidwood and Dean Haglund as The Lone Gunmen. Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose are among the newcomers.
"Seeing David and Gillian back on the screen is incredibly exciting," Fox Television chairman and CEO Gary Newman recently told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. "Their chemistry is off the charts."
The X-Files had a nine-season run on from 1993 to 2002, and will return Jan. 24, 2016. Gish has since played Eileen Caffee on Brotherhood and Charlotte Millwright on The Bridge, and currently portrays Dr. Anne Sullivan on Pretty Little Liars.
