Egyptian actress Abla Kamel continues filming the Selsal al Dam (Blood Lines) series to be aired next Ramadan. In an exclusive statement to Arabstoday, Abla said the events of the series entirely revolve around the concept of "taking revenge" in the Egyptian village of Sohag in 1980, from before the assassination of President al-Sadat and ending prior to the February 25 revolution. Kamel described her role as that of a heartbroken woman whose husband was killed by a tyrannical mayor called Hammam (played by actor Riyad al-Kholi), an evil man who takes over the land belonging to the villagers, in his desire for power. Because her screen husband stood up to him and refused to hand over his land, the mayor killed him out of revenge. When asked if Selsal al Dam shared similarities with Haq Mashrou, (Legitimate Right) Kamel agreed that the storyline concerning her husband getting killed was similar, but, she added "the two series are totally different."
