Garret Dillahunt, Tom Felton and Jake Abel are to star in a World War II thriller, "Ghosts of the Pacific," The American Film Co. announced Wednesday. Producer and American Film Co. President Brian Falk will make his directorial debut on the movie, which is inspired by the true story of three U.S. Navy airmen lost at sea the South Pacific in 1942. Production is to begin Monday at Baja Studios in Mexico. The producers said the facility houses the largest outdoor water tank in the world, built for James Cameron's "Titanic." "I've always been attracted to true stories that showcase ordinary people in extraordinary situations," Joe Rickets, the founder and chief executive officer of American Film Co. who is an executive producer on "Pacific," said in a statement. "The men in 'Ghosts of the Pacific' faced seemingly insurmountable odds and yet they never gave up. They were America's first heroes of the Pacific war."
