Under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, Honourary President of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), the championship of the Late Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the Beauty of Purebred Arabian Horses of local production was launched on the Military Sports Association field at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, amid intense participation and a distinguished audience presence.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stated that holding such tournaments stems from the keenness to highlight the beauty of purebred Arabian horses and Bahrain’s distinction in having the finest types of them, commending the good competitive level demonstrated by the participants on the first day of the championship, which indicates the good level of preparation for this championship, in keenness of achieving positive results.
He added that organisational efforts were huge, in order to display a good standard, especially in light of the efforts exerted by the chairmen and members of the committees. He affirmed that these efforts resulted well, bringing out the first day of the championship at the desired level. His Highness expressed his appreciation of all championship’s committees, also pointing out the eagerness of participants to present great competitive rounds in various competitions, wishing them success in the championship’s final rounds, which will be held today.
Dr Khalid Ahmed Hassan, Chairman of the Championship’s Organising Committee, commended Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s sponsorship of this championship and the support of Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation. He pointed out that Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa is always keen to provide various forms of support and sponsorship for these types of competitions that promote Bahrain’s authentic heritage, represented by the beauty of purebred Arabian horses.
Dr. Khalid added that the championship bears a name that is dear to all of the late Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and comes in the midst of distinguished participation of horse owners, affirming that the participants demonstrated good standards during the presentation, which indicates their preparation for this competition and their keenness to provide the best shows and attaining leading positions.
Dr Khalid praised the efforts of the championship’s working committees, which had a prominent role in the success of the first day of the championship.

Mares of age 1 year A1: First Place to the mare Ruya Al-Layal of the owner Saeed Mohammed Abdullah with 91.56 points, Second Place to the mare Bint Al-Noor of the owner Abdul Raouf Ibrahim with 90.44 points, while the mare Ak Aliya of the owner Ali Ahmad Abdullah finished in Third Place with 90.13 points.
Mares of age 1 year B1: First Place to the mare Amlia Al-Khawalid of the owner Khalid Yaqub Al-Mas with 90.56 points, Second Place to Al-Anoud Al-Zain of owner Bashar Mustafa with 90.25 points and Third Place to Shaikhat Al-Anoud of owner Sharaf Al-Din Abdullah with 89.06 points.
The second category:
Mares of age 2 years: In First Place, Jawaher bint Bashir of the owner Abdullah Ahmed with 90.25 points, in second place Aliya Al-Zain of owner Dr Bashar Mustafa with 89.94 points, and in third place Jood Al-Amir of the owner Asmar Stable with 89.06 points.
