His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Paralympic Athletics Association, has attended the conclusive ceremony of the Association's festival.
Bahrain Paralympic Athletics festival was held on December 9-12, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al Fateh, the 45th Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member, and the 17th Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Accession to the Throne.
HH Shaikh Khalid patronized and personally attended the festival's finale in the presence of Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder, Bahrain Olympic Committee secretary-general Abdulrahman Askar, Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa the President of Bahrain .Paralympic Athletics Association, and several board members.
More than 110 .Paralympic players contested in nine games for visually-impaired, hearing-impaired or immobility players.
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed his delight at organizing this festival which reflects the fluent emotions of my brothers and sisters the athletes in showcasing their love of their nation and compassionate leader His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa the principal supporter of all Bahraini sportspeople. The festival was a vivid example that translates the feelings of this wonderful and beautiful category of compatriots who express their loyalty to their beloved nation and its wise leadership.
HH Shaikh Khalid said he was overwhelmed by the huge delight when he met his brothers and sisters the athletes and sharing their joy during this festival, affirming his continuous support to Bahraini youths especially the athletes to pave for them the perfect atmospheres to unleash their talents and to achieve their ambitions, dreams and contribute in uplifting this sport.
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed his appreciation of the efforts exerted by Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa the President of the Association for .Paralympic Athletics and all association members in organizing the programmes and activities aimed to engage and include the athletes in rejoicing their National Days and giving them the opportunity to express their love of their nation and loyalty to their leadership and this beloved country. HH Shaikh Khalid said this festival also gives them the chance to unleash their talents and energies through sports that contribute to boosting the efforts of the association in continuing the development and growth of this game.
HH Shaikh Khalid was keen to follow up and familiarize with all the games in the festival and meeting with the players, posing to take a snapshot with them.
Finally, HH Shaikh Khalid crowned the winners and congratulated them on winning leading places, wishing them more luck and successes in upcoming participations and events.
