In a show of support for Morocco’s national football team, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has reduced fares on its flights to Gabon.
Morocco will face Egypt in the quarterfinals of the 2017 African Cup of Nations (CAN2017) on Sunday.
This decision RAM is reportedly in response to the pleas of Morocco’s supporters, who have expressed their desire to attend the game.
Flights to Gabon’s capital, Libreville, have been reduced from MAD 9000 to 3950 to accommodate Moroccans who want to cheer the team on live and in person.
To make it to Sunday’s quarterfinal game, Morocco beat Cote D’Ivoire 1 – 0 in the third match of Group C at Oyem stadium on Tuesday. Morocco’s substitute player, Rachid Alioui, gave Morocco the lead by scoring a spectacular goal nine minutes into the second half of the match.
Following this victory, Morocco’s captain, Medhi Benatia, expressed his delight in making Moroccans proud and happy, saying, “We are now about to achieve our dream. Two steps left for the final match. If we keep the same determination and energy, we will surely top the tournament.”
“Moroccans players must keep up the same momentum to beat […] Egypt in the next round,“ Benatia added.
