The outstanding results marked by Bahrain’s national bowling and table tennis team at the Fifth GCC Women’s Games, being held in Doha, was highly noted by high-ranking Bahraini sports officials.
The bowling team put on a remarkable display to clinch four medals in total – 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze, and ended second overall in the bowling events, just behind overall champions Oman.
On the other hand, the table tennis team signed off winning a total of 4 medals (2 silver, 2 bronze) in all events, and ended up second overall behind winners Qatar.
A reception ceremony was arranged for both teams at the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) premises in Seef, where Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, along representatives of both sports federations and other high-ranking committee officials greeted them on this occasion.
In his statement after the reception, Askar said he was proud for the remarkable results achieved by both teams in this major women’s regional sporting gathering.
He commended the efforts of the technical team and the teams throughout the games, and wished them similar achievements in future competitions.
