Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar will attend the General Assembly of the Arab Volleyball Association (AVA) on Saturday.
The assembly, which tips off at 9 am, will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Manama, to announce the next president and board members of the AVA.
Askar noted that his presence is in line with the strategy of the BOC to support all regional and international sporting events held in Bahrain, and to make necessary arrangements for the General Assembly and ensure its success.
He said the BOC has already made all procedures in coordination and cooperation with the General Secretariat of the AVA, which is based in Bahrain, and facilitate the arrival of the delegation from other Arab countries.
A number of topics will be brought up at the meeting, including a report from the executive committee for the period between January 7, 2016, and January 7 2017.
The financial report for period from January 1 to December 31, 2016, in addition to the 2017 and 2018 budget study will also be discussed on this occasion.
It’s worth noting that present president of AVA Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa will remain at his postas no candidates have submitted their bid to compete for the organization presidency
