Turkey closes border for land arrivals from northern Iraq over Kurdish vote

Turkey has closed its southern border gate for land arrivals from northern Iraq in response to an independence referendum by Iraqi Kurdistan that is fiercely opposed by Ankara, Turkish media reports said on Monday.
Authorities partially closed the Habur border crossing, barring arrivals from northern Iraq, the Hurriyet newspaper and the private NTV television reported.
